Use of Face ID with a Mask

Apple now makes it possible for iPhone users(from iPhone 12 to date) to unlock their devices using face IDs with their masks on the iOS 15.4. Here is how to activate your face ID with a mask on:

  • Go to “Settings”.
  • Tap “Face ID & Passcode”.
  • Enter your passcode.
  • Tap “Set up face ID with a mask”.

When the set-up is done, you would be able to unlock your iPhone using a face ID with a mask.

FaceTime Android and Windows Users

One of the new tricks of the iOS 15 is that Android and Windows users can now join face time calls, this can be easily achieved by the following procedures:

  • Start the FaceTime call on your iPhone.
  • Click on “Create link”
  • Name your FaceTime link.
  • Share your link with whoever wants to join the call.
  • The link allows android and windows users to join via the browser version of FaceTime.

And there you have it, you can now face time your friends and family members without an Apple device.

Setup Focus Mode

Focus mode is a new feature that was introduced with the iOS 15, this feature helps reduce distractions and helps you focus more on important tasks. To set up your focus mode:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap on “Focus”.
  • Tap the additive sign in the top right corner to create a focus mode.
  • Choose what you want to focus on.

Lock a PDF file

The iOS 15 lets you able to lock your PDF files with a password. This can not be applied when the file is on iCloud, and the pdf file has to be on your phone. Here is how to lock your pdf documents:

  • Open the Files app.
  • Tap “On My iPhone”.
  • Select the pdf file you want to lock.
  • Tap on the “Action” icon located at the bottom left corner.
  • Tap “lock PDF”.

Delete Home Screen Pages

Apple now offers an option to delete home screen pages that are not frequently used.

  • Start by long-pressing any empty space on your home screen.
  • Tap the stripped arranged dots above the iPhone’s dock.
  • Unselect the tabs you want to delete.
  • Tap the minus button at the top left.
  • Select “Remove”.

Note: Apps on the deleted home screen pages will not be uninstalled.

Copy Texts from Images

Apple now introduces a new feature with the iOS 15 called the “Live Text” which makes it possible to copy text from images. To copy text from a photo:

  • Open photo with text.
  • Long press the text you want to copy.
  • Select the copy option.

Hide your IP address

You heard that right, iOS 15 MAKES IT POSSIBLE to hide your IP address from the website. To enable this feature:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Select “Safari”.
  • Tap on “Privacy & Security”.
  • Tap on “Hide IP address”.
  • Select “Trackers and Websites”.

With this, activated safari will protect your personal information and hide your IP address from known trackers and websites.
